Navigating remote work: Jessica Condon's journey
Do you want to improve your well-being, mental health, and productivity at work while pursuing your passions?
finova can help. We offer a 'workcation' perk that allows you to work abroad for up to 4 weeks a year, to help support a better work-life balance. We recently asked our Business Analyst, Jessica Condon, about her experience of working from anywhere.
Tell us about your experiences with the "work from anywhere" perk?
The work from anywhere perk allows me to work from my other home – back in Ireland. My parents and friends are at work during the day and using annual leave to be there would be silly. Following my mother in law’s stroke, I was able to work from my parents' home and visit the hospital during visiting hours both at lunchtime and after work. Work keeps my mind occupied, and I was glad for the distraction.
What motivated your decision regarding your work location?
Family first. Working from the home away from home.
How did this help with your work-life balance?
The work from anywhere perk meant, I was able to do my work and be there for my mother-in-law., collect my sister from her school exams, let the gardener in for my folks and walk the family dogs on lunch. All different days of course – I am not superwoman!
What do you enjoy most about remote work?
The ability to be in two places at once. I can be there for my work colleagues and not take time off for small things, but I am also there for the small things in my family's life.
Do you intend to utilise this perk in the future?
Yes certainly. I’ll likely return to Ireland again.
At finova, we've discovered the undeniable benefits of remote work. This flexible approach boosts productivity, job satisfaction and work-life balance. Interested in joining us? Check out our open roles on our careers page.
