Welcome to finova - Meet People Business Partner, Giulia Gambina

Giulia has written about her experience joining finova as a People Business Partner - from what attracted her to finova as an employer to her highlights so far.

Tell us a bit about yourself Giulia - what’s your role and what did you do pre-finova?

I’m originally from the sunny South of Italy. I lived in the land of kangaroos for 4 years before moving to the UK, which has been my home now for the last 9 years. I love food, travel itineraries and Latin dancing, and enjoy cycling along the Thames or doing yoga when I am not planning my next holiday adventure!

I joined finova as People Business Partner and I used to work for BUX, a European mobile brokerage company, as HR Business Partner.  

What attracted you to finova as an employer?

I had experience working in the fintech space and I wanted to stay in the industry. I liked the team at finova and could see myself working with them. The perks of working from abroad was quite attractive as I love travelling!

Why do you think we selected you as an employee?

I think finova hired me because of my 7 years of experience in the industry. I’m an experienced People Business Partner, which means I’ve been supporting managers throughout the employee lifecycle, as well as senior stakeholders by aligning people objectives to the company business strategy. I’m good at building relationships, and I strive to continuously improve myself and create an impact in the companies I work for.

How did you find our recruitment process?

Smooth and quick! The recruiter, Sarah, has been great throughout the whole process and was very attentive to answer any questions I had.  

What do you like about the job and the organisation?

The work life balance!

What’s been going well? What are the highlights of your experiences so far? Why?

I couldn’t ask for a better team to work with, everyone has been super friendly and available to help me settle into my new role.

Do you feel your role in finova provides you with a good work/life balance?

Yes, it provides the perfect balance! I am expected to go to the office 1-2 times a week.

How do you see your job relating to the finova’s values?

I find finova’s values relate very well to my role and all the behaviours described are crucial to be successful in my role!  

What have you enjoyed most since joining finova?

The people – everyone is very friendly and happy to help!

Would you recommend finova as an employer? Why?

Yes, because of the people and the work life balance.
