Recently, we sat down with Matt Harrison, our Commercial Director for finova Broker to talk about how finova’s approach aims to deliver broker-centric solutions and foster success within the mortgage industry.

After almost seven years at finova, how has your role as Commercial Director of finova Broker transformed, and what strategies are you using to address challenges in the mortgage software industry?

Since starting at finova in 2017, my responsibilities have changed considerably. At first, I concentrated on strengthening our presence in the intermediary market. After rebranding eKeeper to finova Broker, we upgraded our offerings for mortgage brokers by introducing advanced CRM solutions and incorporating services such as digital conveyancing and credit checks.  

Now, as Commercial Director, I’m dedicated to providing a unified platform that simplifies the mortgage process for brokers, addressing the industry's diverse technology challenges. By aligning our products with the requirements of brokers and lenders, we strive to create a more interconnected ecosystem that boosts efficiency and client satisfaction.

How is finova’s approach to broker technology different from others?

Rather than expecting brokers to change how they work, we prioritise creating software that adapts to brokers’ needs and processes. Our philosophy is simple: the right technology should empower brokers, not hinder them. By delivering intuitive, flexible and adaptable solutions, we aim to remove obstacles brokers commonly face, making it easier for them to focus on building strong client relationships and achieving growth.

What upcoming developments excite you most, and how will they create new opportunities for brokers and their clients?

We have some exciting advancements on the horizon that are set to make a real impact. A recent highlight is our new, highly configurable Customer Portal, which allows brokers to enhance their customer interactions through a seamless, self-service experience. This launch has already opened doors to new opportunities for brokers to engage clients in a more streamlined and accessible way.

Additionally, we’re implementing an advanced lead-handling system on our lender platform. This system will enable brokers to work more closely with lenders, optimising lead management and creating a smoother process from start to finish. By continuously innovating in areas that matter to brokers and their clients, we’re focused on empowering brokers to provide exceptional service while expanding their capabilities in today’s fast-evolving market.

What’s your hope for the mortgage industry in 2025 and beyond?

Stability –over the past few years, brokers have faced many challenges, yet they’ve adapted remarkably. Looking ahead, I hope for a stable landscape that supports growth and confidence, providing an environment where brokers can thrive.  Whatever happens, finova Broker will continue to support our customers with innovative, broker-focused solutions tailored for both calm and turbulent times.
